GPRO World Championship: A New Era of Competition

GPRO is a thrilling motorsport management game, but assessing a manager’s true skill level can be challenging due to the large number of groups within each category—except for the Elite tier. It's possible to find oneself in a group with highly skilled opponents, or in one where the competition is less intense. In such cases, becoming champion doesn’t always carry the same weight or meaning.

With this in mind, I began exploring a solution to bring all these groups together into one grand competition: a true World Championship. While the Big Race already exists, a single retirement during the season can eliminate any hope of victory, which doesn’t necessarily reflect a player’s true potential.

In Season 100, I had the opportunity to take part in a new competition created by Gianpaolo Sessa: the Rookie Contest Challenge. This initiative laid the foundation for the vision I had in mind. After discussing it with Gianpaolo, I decided to adapt his concept to other categories and introduced several improvements.

Thus, in Season 101, the GPRO World Championship was born. In Season 102, Gianpaolo entrusted me with the management of the Rookie category, which we officially integrated into the Championship. The positive feedback received since then has been incredibly valuable and has helped further develop the concept.

During the first season, I published the results as plain text on the forum, which made them rather difficult to read. By the second season, I introduced tables and added statistics—such as pole positions—to make the results clearer and more engaging. The competition now also features its own official logo, giving it a stronger visual identity.

However, I soon realized that for the project to be fully recognized as an integral part of the GPRO universe, forum posts alone wouldn’t be enough. A more professional structure was needed.

I'm therefore pleased and proud to announce that this has now been accomplished: the official GPRO World Championship website is now live, and it will continue the journey we began on the forum.
This new chapter also marks the birth of the International Federation GPRO (IFGPRO), which will guide and support the Championship’s development into the future.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to:

Gianpaolo Sessa, without whom this project would likely never have existed,

David Mélis, for his essential help in building the website,

Vladimir Alexandrov, creator and President of GPRO, for his support,

And of course, all the managers who have encouraged and supported me throughout this adventure.

Long live GPRO, the GPRO World Championship, and the IFGPRO!

Pascal Guimard
President of the IFGPRO
